PITTSBURGH, PA - September 2, 2024 - Hawk Hill Pictures is pleased to announce its acquisition of the heart-felt family film, The Great One, as well as its agreement with renown international distributor, Princ Films, who will begin sales of the film worldwide.
Molly O’Brien, portrayed by renowned influencer iJustine, is a dedicated sports journalist whose bustling career strains her marital and family relationships. Upon receiving devastating news of her childhood friend Danny’s passing from cancer, Molly returns to her hometown for his funeral. Amidst the grief, she reflects on a transformative years spent with Danny, revolving around their shared passion for baseball, particularly the Pittsburgh Pirates and the legendary Roberto Clemente.
As Molly unpacks a box of mementos Danny left for her, she discovers recordings he made for her, revealing his deep affection and support during pivotal moments of her life.
Shot entirely in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, The Great One is a touching exploration of friendship, nostalgia, and the profound impact of simple gestures. Written and Directed by Russ Babines and starring Sophie Guest, Justine Ezairk, and Brendan Griffin, the film captures the essence of personal connection and the enduring influence of cherished memories.
