Hawk Hill Pictures will release the indie animated feature Tied Up, directed by three-time Academy Award–nominated filmmaker Konstantin Bronzit, worldwide on March 24 across major digital platforms including Prime Video and Google Play. Audiences can pre-order on Apple TV now.
Directed by Bronzit (Lavatory Lovestory, We Can’t Live without Cosmos, The Three Sisters) and collaborator, Oscar-nominated writer Dmitry Vysotsky, Tied Up follows an unlikely group of discarded objects navigating a shared journey in search of purpose and belonging. Blending humor and adventure, the film explores themes of meaning, community and second chances through the perspective of discarded objects.
Synopsis: Tied Up follows Mac, a high-end necktie suddenly discarded and forced to navigate life alongside a group of fellow castoffs, including a broken vase, an air freshener bottle, a worn boot, and a spool of thread. While Mac is determined to return to his former life, the others are searching for a place they call “Paradise,” where they believe their wishes will come true.
As the journey unfolds, Mac begins to question what truly defines value, loyalty and purpose.
“We started with a simple idea about things people throw away, but it quickly became a story about connection and meaning. Even what seems forgotten can still have value and a place in the world,” said Bronzit. “Animation gives you a way to speak about serious ideas in a simple and universal language. What may seem small or forgotten can still carry meaning.”
Jen Katzfey, President of Hawk Hill Pictures, commented, “There’s a simplicity to Tied Up that makes it accessible, but there’s also a deeper layer that stays with you. It’s really about what we’re searching for and where that journey might lead.”
